Group Talk

As a first fase of our asylum centre project, studio teacher Hallvard set us out to analyze cultural aspects, typology and program. We also managed to visit an asylum centre. However, no one was living there, only the attendee was present.

Group Meeting

Met up with the rest of group one for a meeting today. Talked about the site and discussed how to make the most of it. Lots of nice sketches and interesting point of views on the aerea surrounding the site.

Islamic architecture

A week ago during history class Arne Eggen had a treat in store for us. Fired up this baby and had a slide show on medium format (6x6).

Bolteøkka Asylum Centre

As stated in the heading, we are drawing an asylum centre in Bolteløkka. A timely social issue on a sensitive site.

Parameters in our project text states that the building must house 4 families, have private sleeping and toilet areas, eating facilities, a storage room, staircases and/or elevators, emeregency exits and spaces for recreation inside as well as outside. There are also possibilities of integrating commercial areas on ground floor.

Color red marks the site.

Flaneur

Bakgård out strolling with Ville. Good or not, we were looking for examples of mixed urban spots in city centres and discuss what we find interesting. However, ended up staring at buildings, like this one down town Grønland. Facade with green glass and perforated metal plates. Turned out pretty handsome on photos.
