Flaneur

Bakgård out strolling with Ville. Good or not, we were looking for examples of mixed urban spots in city centres and discuss what we find interesting. However, ended up staring at buildings, like this one down town Grønland. Facade with green glass and perforated metal plates. Turned out pretty handsome on photos.

Does anyone know more about the energy effeciency in this building? I mean, it looks Wallpaper-ish, and it has got the hipster-facades ... and then again it's got the big glass-facades towards the south. Is the last bit just a design-I-like-the-view, or what's the deal?

Do you have any pictures of the situation except the skin?, being a Flaneur or not, youll get a lack of skin colour growing up in one of those "backstreet" sectioned apartments. Cant get a naan inbetween those brothers. Another quick money project trash ready, that wont survive even though its covered up by some green glass.

gunnarr: Good question. Would be interesting with some specs. Anyone? Bakgård knows nothing of the building being costly or energy effecient. A low-cost low-energy building, maybe. I'm guessing several layers hidden behind the facade that clevery isolates, in terms of shifting air in and out, maintaining a balanced climate inside, heat saving etc., and all in all save money. Doing a similar project, are you?

anonymous: No interior shots. Building was closed when we were there.

The building sits on a former parking lot for shuttle bus, neighbouring the highway, mainway, railroad, an ocean front, a roundabout, housing complex and warehouse.

Here is a ortophoto,

On the issue of Flaneur, I dont get it. How do strolling link up with tanning? I recommend reading a related article,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fl%C3%A2neur

We could make a post about Flaneur on Bakgård some day.

Stroll as much as you like, your still in need of some vitamin D living in that place.

your bakgard wiki:

-the flâneur has accumulated significant meaning as a referent for understanding urban phenomena and modernity.

-he (Baudelaire) saw the flâneur as having a key role in understanding, participating in and portraying the city.

being a flâneur limited to facade or not, the building should be more to experience than the colour of glass. The choice of green dont get it any more eco efficient either. Density in hight, no sun, no external heating = shadow = stupid.

-"A low-cost low-energy building".
How is that possible?
