Balloon Party
Oslo Architecture Association held their annual summer party, this time in the pavilion in Tüllinløkka. I joined in and helped arrange 300 balloons for the event.
Visual Junkie
Bakgård went out for walk one day. Sprawlig somewhere inbetween Fagerborg and Bislett I caught this shot. Check their shop. Some nice goodies in there, too.
Modelmaking
We make models during the course of a semester at school, showing our interventions on the site. We use foam, paper, plastic and whatever materials we find and fit in our student budget. We seldom use light as a fixture in our models. Underneath is my own work model for a project we recently had at school.

This so far is the best model Bakgård ever have seen. Way to go setting the bar.

Peripheral Landscapes
Bakgård likes graphic design, especially when its helping grow awareness about the architecture environment.
Here's another one, also rasing awareness about human consumption and costs.
And one last one. About human consumption.

Traffic Awareness
Through the built environment we can raise awareness about traffic mortality. Bakgård likes raising the social good through architectural guerilla tactics such as this.
Doodling
Sketching is important for any architect, to communicate and capture essence of an immediate thought, so spend your money on this

Or you can sketch for fun like the guy in the video underneath.
Or like inside this guy's moleskin.

Lomo
Nice documentray of what is Lomo. I'll try not to spam Bakgård with video links. The documentary is in seven pieces, and here is the first.
Architecture Video Renders
Visually, if you're trying to convince a jury of your proposal for a project, this is how you do it.
Amazing timing on this one.

Shanty towns in São Paulo combined with sleek, geometric modern architecture by Brazilian Dionisio Gonzlez
Pools
The nicest wading pool in Norway. Its still under rehabilitation, so no use of it any time this summer.

Architecture TV
Our neighbouring countries Denmark and Sweden have their architecture and design related shows. You see this here and here. Norway however, have none.
Berlin Space
More initiatives for these types of spaces in Oslo makes Bakgård smile. More in Metropolis There are two decent ones in Oslo, ROM and 0047. And now, some more please. Thank you.

Nature As Your Client
A serious architect always consults with Nature. Having this said, work with Nature and not against. More on this in Metropolis.
Installation
Bakgård went to The Museum of Contemporary Art. This installation was on the piazza. Taken some time during February.
Read Me
Maybe you've had it with Opera talk, but if not, read THIS. Julie Sjøwall Oftedal won a competition about Oslo with this essay. It's kinda funny.
Architecture Talks
Lots of good links to good talks at the always good, The Architectural League in NY. Try this video link, Steven Holl.
Architecture Talks
Renzo, Frank, Zaha and Jean with thoughts on architecture, who all have recieved the Pritzker Prize.
Ole Scheeren
Listen to his thoughts on the Central Chinese Television building in Beijing. Add a comment and write your thoughts about the building.

Cityscapes
I'm more than satisfied when I manage to cramp in half the detailings this guy puts in his cityscapes. More pencil work by Chris Dent here.
Futuristic
I wrote about the architect competition for Oslo Central Station a week ago or so. Space Group actually won! Read all about it here.

Air Castle
The King Abulaziz Center For Knowledge And Culture by Snøhetta. Read the article in Dagbladet or check it out here.

MAXXI Rome
MAXXI (national museum of 21st century arts) by Zaha Hadid. Sadly it was still under construction, so we didn't get in.

All Covered Up
For my semester project I covered parts of my house in plants. I spottet this house in Rome, completely covered in plants. I like it!

Students In Rome
We had a lot of fun in Rome, but some studing was also on the schedule. Lectures with Thomas Thiis-Evensen and drawing with Carsten Loly.

About Bakgård Readers
This is a map with info about our readers. Of course most of you guys are from Norway. No surprise there. We have a few fans in the USA as well.
Duplicity
I found out which movie Julia was shooting in Rome. It's called Duplicity. The plot: A pair of corporate spies (Owen and Roberts) who share a steamy past hook up to pull off the ultimate con job on their respective bosses.
A Touch Of Hollywood
This little lady and Clive Owen was shooting a movie right beside Pantheon the first day we met up with our teacher. The movie crew kept telling us to move all the time. Hope the movie will be good.
